  Conception of a series of trainings especially for young teachers and pupil of the classes 11 – 13 at grammar schools. In role playing and simulations the participants took over the roles of European decision makers in order to become more familiar with central topics of European politics and the different decision-making processes.
• XI. European Summer Academy: The European Union and the formation of the 21st century: How governable and capable of governance is the EU, July 16th – 29th in Bonn and Brussels.
• XII. European Summer Academy: Ready to take off, but really prepared? Perspectives of the European Union after the summit of Nice, July 22nd – August 4th 2001 in Bonn and Brussels.

 

Conception, Organisation and leadership of the Summer Academies 2000 and 2001. In each academy one hundred students and professionals from 15 European countries took part. The programme also included excursions to Brussels prepared with representatives of the Council of the European Union, the European Commission and the European Parliament.
• EURO easy, May 2001
  The target groups of this series of trainings were multipliers in social institutions (nursing homes, homes for disabled persons, social associations). The aim was to coach employees in social institutions in order to prepare their clients for the introduction of the EURO on January 1st 2002. 100 people took part in the series of trainings.

Dissertation

• EC-Regional Policy in Saxony-Anhalt: Cohesion aim – entanglement of competencies and divergence of interests, 2001.

   

  In my dissertation I analysed the conception of the European regional policy and its implementation in Eastern Germany. Based on an empirical research approach I have interviewed more than 25 decision makers in the European Commission, the European Parliament and in several federal and regional ministries in Germany.
